Dear Friend,

Andrew Bacevich is why many of you came to the Quincy Institute. We are thankful beyond measure to have Andrew as a co-founder.

From his beginnings as a committed Cold Warrior to his transformation into a first-class public intellectual calling for a more humble, less violent foreign policy, Andrew Bacevich has connected profoundly with people across the country. With each book – 16 in all – and hundreds of essays, interviews, speeches, and documentaries, Andy has called out America’s addiction to war with a historian’s eye, Midwestern straight-talking logic, and great writing.

On the fifth anniversary of our launch, we are establishing a fund to honor his service to our country and our organization. The fund will support the Andrew Bacevich Chair in American Diplomatic History at the Quincy Institute. The scholar will follow Andy’s example and tirelessly examine and expose the forces and policies that seek to perpetuate American militarism into the 21st century.

Our online giving goal is $75,000 by the end of the year to help seed the Friends of Andrew Bacevich Fund. Will you join us in showing your appreciation for Andy’s invaluable contributions by making an extra gift today?
