Thanksgiving Day Message
From Roman Palomares
LULAC National President and CEO

On this Thanksgiving Day, we pause to give thanks for the countless blessings LULAC has received over the past 96 years. Through the generations, we have built a legacy of service and advocacy that has transformed lives and uplifted communities across the United States and Puerto Rico. We are fast approaching a historic milestone, our next century of service, and with it, LULACs evolving role.

Every LULAC member is always at the center of our team’s work in Washington, and you make all the difference because of your dedication. Also, as I travel throughout the United States, your work clearly shows the true power of unity and deep caring that defines LULAC. You are the heart of this organization, and because of you, our mission continues to thrive and expand.

This year, we responded to challenges with courage and purpose. In the wake of devastating hurricanes, I joined with LULAC leaders in Florida who stepped into action, meeting with residents, listening to their needs, and taking their voices to FEMA to ensure swift assistance. Our members consistently lead the charge, offering hope and solutions in times of crisis.

In Texas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Georgia, and everywhere else, LULAC members energized our democracy through a historic voter registration and civic engagement campaign. Yes, the new generation of members emerging in places like Kansas and Oklahoma and the continued service of longtime LULACers everywhere gives me great hope for our future.

Our work has extended to those who have sacrificed for this country, including deported veterans. In Juárez, Mexico, we recently joined with other LULAC leaders. Meeting with these brave individuals reaffirms my commitment to show they are not forgotten and to keep fighting to bring them home. Likewise, in cities like Omaha, Nebraska, LULAC councils are sacrificing tirelessly to form new partnerships with law enforcement so Latinos are protected and valued in their neighborhoods.

From Illinois, we spearhead the foundation for the future through innovation and technology. LULAC is committed to preparing the next generation through our Youth and Young Adult councils and mentorship programs, equipping young Latinos with the skills and confidence to seize tomorrow’s possibilities. Education will be critical to opening doors for our communities, and LULAC is there to guide and support them.

You are channeling your dedication into action from New York State to California. The road ahead is filled with challenges to build stronger communities, ensure justice, and create lasting change. Yet together, I know we will continue to champion civil rights, advocate for equity, and lift the essential workers and families who are the backbone of this nation.

Today, I give thanks to you—for your commitment, your energy, and your belief in the work we do. Together, we are shaping the future, honoring our rich history, and writing the next chapter of LULAC’s story with boldness and vision.

From my family to yours, I wish you a joyful and blessed Thanksgiving. Let us step forward into the future with excitement, determination, and hope for what lies ahead.

Con gratitud y fe en el futuro,
