Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving, the National Alliance to End Homelessness extends our gratitude to all those committed to ending homelessness. Progress in this work requires a collective effort, and you are an essential part of it.

Today, we give special thanks to the individuals working on the front lines, implementing and meeting the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness. These dedicated professionals work in challenging environments where resources are often scarce—housing and shelter beds are in short supply. Critically, there are also too few staff and inadequate funding to support those doing this essential work.

We are grateful for their unwavering commitment, compassion, and the countless hours they devote to making a difference. It takes a committed and supported workforce to not only address urgent needs but also bring hope and compassionate care to individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

Thanks to the dedicated support from our community and donors that make our work possible, the Alliance's Homelessness Research Institute published key findings from a survey of more than 500 members of this workforce. Insights from this survey have been instrumental in advocating for increased federal funding, enabling better pay, and bolstering support for this vital workforce—a step toward meeting the needs they deserve.

We are thankful for the advocates, partners, and donors who help advance our mission. The Alliance is grateful for the dedicated providers who tirelessly work to make a difference so everyone can have a safe place to call home, and everyone who plays a vital role in empowering this work.
