Looking Forward to Working with the Trump Administration to Secure Our Border

Republicans will work with the Trump Administration to undo the failed policies of the Biden-Harris Administration that have made every state a border state. Republicans will secure our border and protect our communities. As Vice Chairman of the Homeland Security Committee and a member of the Appropriations Homeland Security Subcommittee, I have led the way in designing policies that will secure our border and stop illegal immigration and drug trafficking. With President Trump’s election, I am now in the position to hit the ground running to pass conservative legislation that can earn the President’s signature.

Supporting our Civil Servants Through H.R. 82

I am proud to sponsor H.R. 82, which repeals provisions that reduce Social Security benefits for individuals who receive other benefits, such as a pension from a state or local government. This bill will also eliminate the government pension offset, which in various instances reduces Social Security benefits for spouses, widows, and widowers who also receive government pensions of their own. Lastly, this bill eliminates the windfall elimination provision, which in some instances reduces Social Security benefits for individuals who also receive a pension or disability benefit from an employer that did not withhold Social Security taxes.
