What we learned from Donald Trump's first term is that he can't help but break the law. It's part of his brand. It's part of what he does. And with Trump returning to the White House this coming January, Democratic attorneys general like me will be the last line of defense protecting our constitutional rights.
As California's Attorney General, I've been preparing for every scenario. We've already seen MAGA Republicans ramping up attacks on our fundamental freedoms — from reproductive care to voting rights to environmental protections. When Trump returns to the White House, installing a MAGA cabinet, and the GOP takes control of both chambers of Congress, these attacks will only intensify.
That's why I'm working with other Democratic AGs to build a strong legal defense against any unlawful actions. But we need grassroots supporters like you to fuel this fight.
