These reports and policy brief highlight innovative programs breaking barriers for historically marginalized groups, including women and people of color. From healthcare apprenticeships tailored to LA’s diverse communities to Milwaukee’s cutting-edge manufacturing partnerships and equity-focused transit training in California, these case studies show how apprenticeships can drive equity across industries and regions. The Sustainability Network, in partnership with the Georgetown Climate Center, is a peer network of state transportation agency staff focused on best practices to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and vehicle-miles traveled in the transportation sector, which accounts for 28% of U.S. emissions. Tregoning, USDOT’s Senior Advisor on Land Use, highlighted funding opportunities for developing housing near transit to improve transportation performance and reduce environmental impact, calling it “the gift that keeps on giving.”
