Dear Friend,
Your friends at the Drug Policy Alliance are honored to stand up for health, equity, and human rights – for you, your loved ones, and your neighbors.
We’re grateful for our allies across the United States and abroad who partner with us to demand care and compassion for those of us in need of a helping hand.
We’re humbled by your support, and the support from an ever-growing community of advocates, that allows us to do what we do best: reform policies, save lives, and advance the cause of justice.
And together we’ve accomplished so much this past year, in states across the country and in Congress.
We fought to treat drug use as a health issue, not a criminal problem – giving people access to lifesaving services, instead of handcuffs and incarceration.
We advanced marijuana legalization – doing it the right way by repairing the harms of criminalization and reinvesting in communities most harmed by marijuana prohibition.
We advocated to keep families safe and whole – protecting people’s jobs, creating access to social support programs, and defending against family separations because of drugs.
We upheld the dignity of people who use drugs – countering misinformation and promoting policies backed by evidence.
You and the Drug Policy Alliance are both part of a larger social and political movement to end the war on drugs. Our work is a moral imperative as much as it is a public health necessity – and we will keep advocating for what is right until we realize our vision.
Thank you for all your support and energy – and we wish you and your loved ones a happy holiday season.
