Dear Global Citizen,
I’m Vishal Prasad, writing to you from Fiji—a place where climate change is no
longer a distant threat but a daily reality. Despite contributing less than 1%
of global emissions, Pacific Islands face rising sea levels, intensifying
cyclones, and entire communities being uprooted.
I’ll never forget visiting a village in northern Fiji devastated by twin
cyclones in 2020. Families who lost their homes still live in tents three years
later, raising children without privacy or security. Witnessing this fuels my
fight for climate justice.
That’s why myself and a group of students from across the Pacific islands are
calling for the world’s highest court—the International Court of Justice
(ICJ)—to issuea

ruling on what governments must do to protect people and the planet

<[link removed]>.
This ruling would push countries to take stronger action and ensure those most
affected by climate change aren’t left behind.
But to make this happen, we need to show the ICJ judges the human cost of this
crisis—and that’s where you come in.

to the ICJ. Your voice will send a powerful message that could inspire a
historic decision, bringing justice and accountability to those who need it
most.
Thank you for standing with us in this critical moment. Together, we can hold
the world accountable.
