Justice Democrats

John,

Before many log off to spend Thanksgiving with family and friends, I wanted to connect with you directly. I am deeply grateful for the support that makes our work possible and for the shared commitment to building a better future together even at a time when the path feels difficult.

The 2024 general election delivered tough results: Republicans now control the Presidency, Senate, and House of Representatives. There have been a lot of opinions and hot takes about why Democrats fared so poorly this election cycle, with a lot of unfounded finger-pointing at movement groups like Justice Democrats.

But here’s the truth: even if they can’t bring themselves to admit it, the leadership of the Democratic Party has lost touch with working class people while cozying up with corporations and super PACs, and it’s beyond time we change that.

Justice Democrats was founded to build people power in our country by finding and electing a bloc of working class leaders to Congress who reject corporate PAC money and truly put people first.

We defied the odds again and again to elect former bartender Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, former school principal Jamaal Bowman, former nurse Cori Bush, community organizer and former state elected official Summer Lee, and the rest of our bloc — people with lived experience from working class backgrounds with big, bold ideas to make life better for everyday people and challenge the status quo.

Though we lost Jamaal and Cori to challengers recruited and funded by AIPAC — who spent more money than EVER this cycle in the history of federal primary elections — we are honoring their fight in Congress and preparing for what must come next.

There is a vacuum of leadership at the federal level that can be filled by billionaire-backed candidates or by working people. We are making sure it’s with working people by finding the next generation of candidates to run for Congress and challenge corporate Democrats in 2026.

We wouldn’t be here without you, John, and we depend directly on grassroots contributions from people like you to fuel the work ahead.

Before we log off for a bit, I need to ask: will you pitch in any amount before our November 30th fundraising deadline to fund our efforts to transform the Democratic Party for the better?

I and every member of the Justice Democrats team are so incredibly grateful for you. Together, we CAN drive big money out of politics and elect representatives of the people to create lasting change in Washington.

Have a healthy and happy holiday,

Alexandra Rojas
