As Thanksgiving approaches, I wanted to personally thank you for all of your hard work this year and reflect on where we’ve been as we look forward.

As we look back on a tough election cycle, I am grateful for our devoted public servants and the people who volunteer, campaign, and pour their hearts out every day to support our shared values of democracy, equality, and opportunity for all.

That includes you. While the result of the presidential race was not what we fought so hard for, your commitment to this work ensured that the Democratic Party could invest in all 57 state and territory parties this year, hiring organizing staff across the country early and building state party infrastructure.

Those investments helped Democrats win Senate races in battleground states like Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada, and Arizona, send two Black women to the U.S. Senate, win critical down-ballot races in states like North Carolina, and more.

You helped make that possible. Thank you.

Soon, a new administration and Congress will be sworn in, and our focus will turn to defending the hard-won progress we’ve made. In moments like these, I’m reminded of a saying we have in South Carolina: “While I breathe, I hope.”

The work we did together this year was a profound expression of hope. And it’s that same hope that must carry us forward as we continue our fight for a more perfect union.

Our work continues. But this week, I hope you have a chance to get some well-deserved rest and spend time with loved ones. And on behalf of the entire team at the Democratic Party, we wish you a happy Thanksgiving.

Thank you for being a part of this team.

Jaime
