Israel Agrees to Peace Deal With Hezbollah As a “Gift” to Trump

NBC: President Joe Biden announced Tuesday that Israel and Hezbollah had agreed to a United States-brokered ceasefire in Lebanon. In addition to widening the risk of a regional war, the escalated tensions and back-and-forth strikes over the last year have killed thousands of people and displaced more than a million. Under the deal, which is set to go into effect Wednesday at 4 a.m. local time, the fighting at the Israel-Lebanese border will end, Biden said in outlining the ceasefire, which he said was “designed to be a permanent cessation of hostilities.” Biden said the U.S., and partners including France, “will make sure this deal is implemented fully” (NBC). Nick Sortor: Joe Biden has taken credit for the ceasefire deal between Israel and Hezbollah. Even the *Washington Post* says Israel was doing it for President Trump. Is it just a coincidence that Israel agreed to a ceasefire right after talks with Trump? Of course it’s not. But Joe Biden’s going to shamelessly take credit anyway. What a useless imbecile (X).

11th Circuit Court of Appeals Grants Jack Smith’s Request to Dismiss Case Against Donald Trump
Hill: The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals on Tuesday granted a request from special counsel Jack Smith to drop President-elect Trump’s Florida documents case, ending the battle to charge him over retaining records with classified markings after leaving office. The order fulfills a request from Smith to end an appeal in the case as it relates to Trump though the case continues for his two co-defendants – valet Walt Nauta and Mar-a-Lago property manager Carlos de Oliveira. The move comes after Smith similarly moved to dismiss without prejudice Trump’s election interference case, in both cases noting Trump’s coming inauguration and a DOJ policy that bars the prosecution of sitting presidents (Hill). Townhall: It goes unmentioned in such an excerpt that there were plenty of concerns with the classified documents case. Close to two years after Mar-a-Lago was raided in August 2022, it was revealed that the FBI was authorized to use “deadly force…”  The other legal cases against Trump also look to be failing. Judge Juan Merchan last Friday moved to delay sentencing indefinitely in the “hush money” case. Further, the Georgia Court of Appeals last week cancelled the disqualification hearing for Fulton County DA Fani Willis in her case against Trump over the 2020 election. Oral arguments were supposed to take place next month (Townhall).

Democrats Upset With Kamala Harris’ Campaign Spending: “I think this disqualifies her forever”
Hill: Vice President Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) are set to address the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) finance directors amid reports that the campaign is $20 million in debt after a lavish spending spree. Political mega-donor John Morgan told NewsNation’s “CUOMO” on Monday that those who poured money into the Harris-Walz campaign were trying to defeat Trump, not elect Harris — and her campaign’s spending is cause for serious concern…The donor added that the reported $1.5 billion spent in four months is proof that Harris shouldn’t run again. “I think this disqualifies her forever,” Morgan said. “If you can’t run a campaign, you can’t run America” (Hill). DNC Staff Union: One day’s notice, no severance—the DNC fights for workers, just not their own (X).

Tom Homan Confirms States Will Lose Federal Funding If They Refuse to Cooperate With Deportation Efforts
Townhall: President-elect Donald Trump’s “border czar” Tom Homan said in an interview this week that states that refuse to comply with deportations will lose federal funding. Homan made the remarks in an interview with Mark Levin on Fox News. Levin pointed out that now, Trump and his aides have “a very, very powerful weapon that the Democrats, when they’re in power, use against Republican administrations, state and local, all the time: federal funding” (Townhall). Mediaite: Incoming Border Czar Tom Homan confirmed that states that refused to “cooperate” with President-elect Donald Trump’s plans for the mass deportation of illegal immigrants would have their federal funding slashed in retribution (Mediaite).

Leaders of Canada, Mexico Call Trump After He Issues Tariff Threats
Daily Wire: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau reportedly called President-elect Donald Trump on Monday night, just hours after Trump threatened to enact tariffs against Canada for border security issues. “Shortly after Trump’s post, Trudeau contacted Trump and the two leaders spoke by phone,” said Bloomberg News reporter Brian Platt. “According to a source, they talked border security and it was a ‘constructive call,’” he said. “Trudeau pointed out that the issues at the Canadian border are minuscule compared to the US/Mexico border” (Daily Wire). Benny Johnson: Canada PM Justin Trudeau agrees to work with Trump on border security after tariff threats (X). Ontario Premier Doug Ford: A 25 per cent tariff would be devastating to workers and jobs in both Canada and the U.S. The federal government needs to take the situation at our border seriously. We need a Team Canada approach and response—and we need it now. Prime Minister Trudeau must call an urgent meeting with all premiers (X). AJ Huber: Mexican president Claudia Sheinbaum just announced that she is stopping the migrant caravans from arriving at the U.S. southern border after President Trump’s tariff threat. Nothing can stop what’s coming! Only DJT can change the world even before the inauguration! “I have the vision that there will be an agreement with the US” (X). Colin Rugg: It’s remarkable how quickly they get in line. During a press conference, Sheinbaum said she was writing a letter to Trump. The president said she would be advocating for dialogue and cooperation (X).

Inspector General Issues Report on Why Trust in DOJ is Failing; Blames Trump
Townhall: The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ)’s Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has released its annual report identifying the top management and performance challenges currently facing the federal agency. Among the OIG’s findings, a lack of public trust in the DOJ remains a “longstanding” problem, Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz announced Monday, and strengthening such trust poses “a significant challenge.” However, in its 59-page report highlighting incidents that have contributed to the department’s confidence crisis, the DOJ watchdog largely overlooked transgressions under the Biden-Harris administration, which still reigns. Instead, the OIG looked farther back to Trump’s time in office, his first term, as we head into the president-elect’s second. Based on the OIG’s oversight work, the inspector general’s office blames a medley of Trump-era episodes as reasons why public trust in the institution has eroded over time (Townhall). DOJ Inspector General: Today we released the 2024 Top Management and Performance Challenges Facing the DOJ. The challenges are identified based on our oversight work and are meant to help the DOJ improve its operations (X).

MSNBC “Unaware” VP Harris’ Campaign Paid Rev. Al Sharpton’s Nonprofit for Interview
Fox News: MSNBC admitted it was “unaware” that Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign paid $500,000 to Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network nonprofit ahead of a friendly interview with the Democratic nominee ahead of Election Day. Harris sat down for a friendly interview on Oct. 20 with MSNBC’s Sharpton, an open supporter of Harris and the Democratic Party. Following Harris’ loss to President-elect Trump, FEC filings revealed the Harris campaign gave two $250,000 donations to Sharpton’s nonprofit organization in September and October – but the MSNBC host did not inform viewers of the contributions or the conflict of interest before or after the interview (Fox News). Free Beacon: Sharpton did not inform MSNBC viewers of the contributions during the segment, nor did he inform network brass, a network spokesman said. “MSNBC was unaware of the donations made to the National Action Network,” the spokesman said. He declined to say whether the network would take any action, indicating that it does not comment on “personnel matters” (Free Beacon).

California’s Gas Prices in 2025 to Increase Costs by Hundreds of Dollars Annually
California Globe: A significant increase in the retail price of gasoline that Californians will pay at the pump is expected for 2025. The projected increase could drive California’s retail gasoline prices to exceed the national average by as much as 62% by late 2025. The increase will contribute to inflation, add to the exceptionally high cost of living in California where only 16% of residents can afford to buy a home, and has a disproportionate and adverse impact on lower income Californians. On November 8, 2024, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) passed new special blend mandates for California’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS). The new standards require that refiners produce, and retail gas stations sell, a new California special blend in 2025. The CARB contends that the new special blend is necessary to achieve carbon and methane emission reduction targets and is consistent with Governor Gavin Newsom’s 2035 mandate to eliminate the sale of internal combustion car sales and 2050 targets. By its own admission, the CARB projected that the new special blend could increase the retail price of gasoline by $0.47 a gallon… California regulatory and legislative actions could conservatively cost the California consumer an extra $222.00 to $449.00 a year for regular grade fuel, more for premium. To compensate for the expected increases in retail gasoline prices, the average Californian driving an internal combustion vehicle will have to earn an additional $600.00 to $1,000.00 a year in pre-tax income to “break even” with 2024 prices, depending on the grade of gas they purchase (California Globe). National Review: A study from the University of Pennsylvania’s Kleinman Center found that the CARB underestimated the impact the new fuel standards would have on gas prices. The Kleinman Center expects the price of gas to increase 65 cents per gallon in 2025, 18 cents more than the CARB estimate (National Review).

U.N. Fires Genocide Expert For Declining to Say Israel is Committing Genocide
Daily Wire: A courageous woman from Kenya, Alice Wairimu Nderitu, who serves as the United Nations’ Special Advisor on the Prevention of Genocide was fired after she stood up to the Israel-haters in the U.N. and refused to declare that Israel has committed “genocide” in its war against Hamas… Nderitu’s office released a guidance paper in 2022 on “when to refer to a situation as ‘genocide.’” She warned that U.N. officials should “adhere to the correct usage” when referring to genocide, noting “its frequent misuse in referring to large scale, grave crimes committed against particular populations.” She pointed out that the term was originally conceived by Polish lawyer Raphael Lemkin in 1944 and meant eliminating entire ethnic groups (Daily Wire). Analyst Eli Kowaz: Your daily reminder about how the UN operates. Stand up for the truth like Alice Wairimu Nderitu, you’ll lose your job. Stand up for radical Islamic terrorists like Francesca Albanese, you’re untouchable (X). Wall Street Journal: Beyond Ms. Nderitu’s fate, the damage here includes defining genocide down. The word has become a weapon of political propaganda that will erode its moral authority when it’s needed to describe genuine horrors. Ms. Nderitu may be out, but her refusal to endorse a lie in service of a political agenda has been a profile in courage. Can anyone with integrity survive at the U.N. (Wall Street Journal)?

Oakland on Verge of Bankruptcy
HotAir: Last week the city accidentally published a budget report on its website which said the city was in danger of insolvency unless serious cuts were made immediately (HotAir). End Wokeness: Oakland to solve its budget crisis by laying off 70 cops, closing fire stations, & reducing library hours Oakland is a sanctuary city (X).Paul Szypula: Oakland’s homicide rate is over 10x the national average, so naturally the imbeciles running the city want to reduce the police force (X).
