Dear John,

As we prepare to gather around our tables this Thanksgiving, many families in Northern Virginia are facing empty plates. Families like the Gibsons.

Your gift today can provide fresh, nourishing food for the Gibson family <[link removed]>.

Jordan, a parent to three, is doing everything possible to provide for their three children: Eric, Erycka, and AJ. Rising costs and reduced work hours have made it impossible to afford enough groceries.

It’s hardest on the kids. AJ, the youngest, doesn’t understand why there’s no snack after school. Erycka, a high school basketball player, often skips meals to make sure her younger sibling has enough to eat. And Eric, a first-year college student, depends on the campus food pantry to keep hunger at bay while keeping up his grades.

Thanksgiving, a time meant for joy and togetherness, has become a reminder of what they’re missing.

It doesn’t have to be this way. Families like the Gibsons are the reason we work relentlessly to ensure no family must choose between providing their children with food or medicine and paying the utility bills.

This Thanksgiving, let’s make sure every family has a reason to give thanks.

Will you send your most generous gift today and help set a table filled with love and nourishment for families like the Gibsons <[link removed]>?

Thank you for bringing hope and compassion to our neighbors in need.

With gratitude,
