Bringing You OAC's Monthly Updates, Stories and Ways to Get Involved

November 2024

Happy Thanksgiving week! We're thankful for our members, our supporters and the advocates fighting to make the world a better place for people with obesity. We hope everyone has a happy and healthy holiday! Keep reading to see the OAC's latest updates, straight to your inbox.

BREAKING NEWS From the White House

Today, the Biden Administration proposed a groundbreaking rule to expand Medicare and Medicaid coverage for obesity medications, making life-changing treatments more accessible to millions. This milestone reflects growing recognition of obesity as a chronic disease and marks significant progress in improving access to affordable obesity care.

This success wouldn't have been possible without OAC supporters and advocates! In May, the OAC united 57 organizations and more than 1,500 advocates to urge the Biden Administration to prioritize comprehensive obesity care. Together with our members, we sent more than 5,500 letters to make our voices heard — and this new rule is a direct result of those efforts!

The OAC urges the public to join us in thanking the Biden Administration for the new proposed rule. Use our Action Center to TAKE ACTION today!
