As 2024 draws to a close, ASAN knows that our community is our strength. No self-advocate is alone in the fight for our rights. Brick by brick and victory by victory, each day we move closer to a world where people with disabilities have the support we need; the freedom to live, work and play in community; and protections for our basic rights. To help reach these goals, ASAN is participating in #GivingTuesday, a global effort based around the grassroots generosity of people like you to raise funds for nonprofit organizations around the world. We hope that you will join us.

From our grassroots affiliates working to make change in their communities to self-advocates submitting public comments on key policy issues, time and time again, you all remind us that the strength of the self-advocacy movement comes from our connections with one another.

Our own work here at ASAN would not be possible without the generosity of monthly members [[link removed]] and donations from our community [[link removed]] that allow us to provide free trainings, toolkits, and other resources on our rights to self-advocates.

Over the past year, your generous support has allowed ASAN to:

* Release a detailed report on what behavioral support services [[link removed]] are like right now and how they can be made better.
* Published new plain language and Easy Read resources on gender affirming care [[link removed]] and barriers to care [[link removed]] for transgender and nonbinary people with disabilities.
* Continue to fight for an end to 14(c) [[link removed]], a rule that allows companies to pay people with disabilities less than minimum wage.
* Held webinars on voting rights [[link removed]], community organizing [[link removed]], legislative advocacy, [[link removed]] Covid-19 and Mpox [[link removed]] and how self-advocates can join the fight to end subminimum wage.
* And much more.

You can read more about the work we’ve done this past year in our annual report here. [[link removed]]

This work is made possible by the support of our donors , who enable us to fight for our community. This year, consider making a #GivingTuesday donation to ASAN to help empower self-advocacy and the autistic community. Can we count on your support? [[link removed]]

Your support [[link removed]] lets us make sure everyone has accessible information about the issues that affect them. Here’s how you can help us keep that going:

* Donate to us directly here [[link removed]]
* Or become a member and get exclusive perks here [[link removed]]
* Start a Facebook fundraiser [[link removed]] at no cost to you, and share with friends
* Buy a copy of Loud Hands or another one of our books here [[link removed]]
* Get a sticker or other item from our Threadless shop [[link removed]]
* Spread the word about us! You can tell your friends about us on social media, via email, or in person

We’re so grateful for your support and for your spirit of giving. We’ll see you next week on GivingTuesday!
