Republican legislators are making a DESPERATE power play after North Carolinians overwhelmingly elected Josh Stein and Jeff Jackson to serve as our next Governor and Attorney General.
But thankfully, Governor Cooper has vetoed their backward bill that would strip power away from these offices and further politicize our elections under the guise of providing hurricane relief.

The people of western North Carolina are hurting and need our help. But the Republican General Assembly is more focused on stripping critical authority away from democratically elected offices than helping struggling businesses and families.
Their appalling power grab proves that they’ll stop at nothing to push their far-right agenda. That’s why it’s critical that we have leaders like Governor Cooper and Governor-elect Josh Stein who are willing to step up for North Carolinians — no matter what.
