Good morning,

This week, I returned to Washington to vote on Nancy Pelosi’s Wish List legislation and her proposal to allow proxy voting in the U.S. House of Representatives. I was strongly opposed to both of these pieces of legislation. As your member of Congress, I’m committed to returning to Washington, DC to do the job I was elected to do and vote for you on the House Floor.

Encouraging Stories

I love this story about Mercer’s Restaurant in Peoria and the exciting things their doing for our community during this troubling time, including offering “Thanksgiving Dinner” for pickup and offering meals on wheels to people in need.

Casework Highlight

A constituent contacted our office because he was the victim of fraud and a credit card account had been opened in his name. Before contacting us, he reached out to the bank, and they stated there was nothing they could do. Our office opened an inquiry with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and they confirmed with the bank that the account was fraudulent. Once confirmed, the fraudulent account was immediately closed and was no longer tied to the constituent.

Coronavirus Casework Highlight

A constituent contacted our office because her Economic Impact Payment was mailed to her tax preparer and not to her. Our office contacted the IRS, who confirmed that this was an issue they were working to correct. We worked with the IRS on options for the constituent, which helped clear the way for her to receive her $1,200 check.
