On Monday, Minnesota House Republican Leader Lisa Demuth appointed me as Republican chairman of the Minnesota House Commerce Committee.
I’m honored to accept the appointment as chair to this committee as I know its subject matter well. I look forward to addressing business activity within the State as well as finding some common-sense solutions that will assist Minnesota’s struggling consumers.
Last session I served as the Republican lead on the commerce committee, and I’ve been a committee member for many years.
In addition, I was also named Republican chairman of the Legislative Commission on Pensions and Retirement. This is a bipartisan commission, and I’ve been involved with pension reform for years. The work we’ve done has helped improve the sustainability of pensions for police, volunteer firefighters, teachers, and public employees.
We are only days away from Thanksgiving! I hope you can spend time with your friends and family on Thursday and enjoy your holiday weekend.
