Hello from the State Capitol,
Yesterday I learned that Minnesota House Republican Leader Lisa Demuth appointed me as Republican chairman of the Minnesota House Taxes Committee.
I am so pleased to be chairing the taxes committee once again, and I am ready to work hard for struggling lower and middle-class Minnesotans who are in desperate need of tax relief.
The taxes committee will oversee every tax program in the state and ensure that each is operating efficiently. As its previous chairman, I authored and approved numerous new laws that provided hundreds of millions of dollars in tax relief to hardworking Minnesotans, including small business owners, farmers, working families, and college students. Crafting a similar proposal will be my top priority in 2025.
In addition, I was also named Republican chairman of the Minnesota House Ethics Committee, a group comprised of an equal number of Republicans and Democrats that addresses formal complaints about alleged misconduct of a state representative.
