It’s amazing how support from Minnesotans like you paired with the work of my team at Minnesota Family Council is one of the most effective ways to protect your most fundamental values.
In 2023, progressives passed an amendment to the Minnesota Human Rights Act (MHRA) which added “gender identity” as a protected status but did not include a religious exemption. This change prohibited religious organizations, churches, and schools from acting on religious beliefs regarding human sexuality.
This past legislative session, we had about 24 hours’ notice to prepare to urge your legislators to restore your religious freedom to this legislation. My team member Renee Carlson (General Counsel for our True North Legal initiative) arrived at the Capitol at 6:00pm on Monday, waiting grueling hours to provide crucial legal insight at 12:30am the following morning.
