The Improving Access to Prenatal Care for Military Families Act will help military families access the high-qualify prenatal care they deserve

Tammy Duckworth

We have exciting news, John:

Senator Tammy Duckworth recently joined Congresswoman Terri Sewell and Senator-elect Andy Kim in introducing the Improving Access to Prenatal Care for Military Families Act.

This legislation builds upon Tammy’s efforts to include improved prenatal care for military families in the 2025 defense bill, creating a Department of Defense pilot program that would designate pregnancy as a “Qualifying Life Event” under TRICARE, the health care program for active duty servicemembers and military families.

This new designation would help break down unnecessary barriers so military members and their spouses can access the high-quality care they need and deserve to build their families.

Tammy’s work on this bill is a clear example of how she will always be leading the charge to advocate for military families and reproductive justice.

Your support of this legislation would mean so much to Tammy. So please, will you add your name today as a citizen co-sponsor of the Improving Access to Prenatal Care for Military Families Act?

Thank you,

Team Duckworth
