Dear Friend,

The outcome of this presidential election threatens a wave of anti-climate legislation.

Though there is much to grieve, we can't forget to stand up and do the work that sits before us and neither should our representatives in Congress.  We need your help reminding them that they still have a job to do. We need to call on Congress to protect our climate.

Sign the petition to tell your representatives: we demand protection of our climate progress!

Here’s what Congress can do to protect climate progress:

  • Prevent cuts to the Environmental Protection Agency budget or other critical climate agency budgets.

  • Prevent legislative language from passing that increases reliance on fossil fuels or weakens key climate programs.

  • Reject bad amendments to must-pass bills.

We also know that local fights matter more than ever. Here in New York, we are fighting for Governor Hochul to sign the Climate Change Superfund Act and for New York City to invest in Green Healthy Schools.

The climate doesn't recognize elections or campaigns – regardless of who is in charge, without productive and rapid climate policy, greenhouse gas emissions will cause havoc throughout the world. Congress must step up to build a sustainable future for this country and beyond.

In solidarity

Jenille Scott
