Maria is a mum who had to flee from Russia's invasion to the other side of Ukraine with her husband and four young children.


As the temperature dropped and freezing winter cold got into their home, the situation looked bleak.

Imagine holding your four precious children, desperately wondering how to keep them warm in temperatures as low as -20C.

"We realised we wouldn't be able to afford firewood," said Maria. "It's too expensive."
