As I recently told The Nation, I don’t like bullies. I don’t like people who abuse their power to harm other people — especially someone as powerful as the President of the United States.
That’s where my office and I come in — to protect and defend people from the abuses and unlawful conduct of abusers of power, like President-elect Donald Trump.
We know the rule of law isn’t a rule Trump is fond of. He’s demonstrated an incredible capacity to break the law, and his plans for his second presidency suggest more of the same.
He wants to do what he wants, when he wants, and how he wants — even if it violates the law. But I won’t let that happen. We’ve thought about all the possibilities, and have prepared for every one of them.
California is gearing up to go toe to toe with the Trump administration in 2025 and beyond, but we’re counting on everyday people like you to fuel our fight.
