Friend,
We’re inching closer step-by-step to fully reopening Indiana, but we need to stay vigilant in the fight against COVID-19.
We must keep in mind that the needs of Hoosiers are still as pressing as ever.
That’s why we’re so proud to see Hoosiers in all corners of the state rallying around two cornerstones of our communities – blood banks and food banks – by stepping up and making sure they have everything they need to give back to our neighbors in need.
Since the start of the pandemic, over 4,000 blood drives have been canceled nationwide. As elective surgeries resume across Indiana’s hospitals, the need for blood donation is crucial. Supporting the Versiti Blood Center of Indiana or the American Red Cross Blood Services are great ways to help our healthcare professionals while still staying safe. As COVID-19 continues to disrupt our supply chains, local food banks also need our help to keep stomachs full and spirits lifted across our state. We’ve been blown away by the stories of generosity like the one below and can’t wait to see more. We’ve come so far together, and we know that Hoosiers will continue to support each other moving forward as we work to defeat this challenge.
