As we gather with family and friends for the Thanksgiving holiday, Jennie and I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on how fortunate we are to live in the best state in the Union, in the best country on earth.
Thanksgiving reminds us of the importance of coming together, supporting one another and sharing time with families, friends and loved ones. Thanksgiving is also a time to consider volunteering to help those in need. As always, we’re particularly grateful for the service members who protect us and preserve our freedoms. May your holiday be filled with warmth, joy, and gratitude, however you choose to celebrate.

In the wake of an historically devastating wildfire season, Governor Gordon's supplemental budget has prioritized replenishing the state’s depleted firefighting accounts, as well as ensuring that funds are available to help restore watersheds, habitat, and replace lost agricultural infrastructure.
The Governor has also recommended funding to fight illegal regulatory efforts in the courts; support access to obstetrics and mental health care providers; and a final investment in Phase III of the the Governor's education and workforce development initiative, WIP.
The Governor emphasized that supplemental budgets are meant to address emergencies and unanticipated needs only. “As we move forward, it is imperative that our expenditures not only address immediate response and recovery needs but also reflect a long-term commitment to building resilience for the future – including disasters – while not exceeding our income,” the Governor said.

RIDE Education Pilots put Innovation on Display
This week's visit to Teton County revealed a look at what the future of education can look like. After addressing students and touring the Jackson Hole Classical Academy, the Governor spent time at Munger Mountain Elementary, a dual-immersion school that has made outstanding academic progress, despite the fact that a large number of students speak only Spanish when they enter.
At Jackson Hole High School, one of the pilot schools participating in the Governor's RIDE Initiative, the Governor was shown an example of a Career Technical Education (CTE) student portfolio and participated in a round table with students to hear their thoughts on public education. Students shared their experiences participating in the school's work-based learning program and encouraged additional opportunities for internships or apprenticeships.

 Wyoming's Outdoor Recreation Industry Sets New Record
New reporting showed that the Outdoor Recreation Industry contributed $2.2 billion to Wyoming's economy in 2023—equivalent to 4.1% of the state’s GDP—placing Wyoming fifth nationally in this sector.
