At NCOA, we work to ensure that older adults can live their lives with dignity, purpose, and security - including opportunities to continue working, even after the traditional retirement age.

Since 1968 we have helped older adults connect with new jobs, facilitating a job training program with our community partners in 23 states and Puerto Rico. Through the program, older adults are provided with on-the-job training and tools to build their skills and confidence before re-entering the workforce.

At age 62, Jeffrey was ready for the next act in his life but wasn't sure how to write it. For the past year, he had poured himself into the role of an unpaid caregiver for his aging parents. That devotion came at a cost. Jeffrey needed a job to help pay the bills, but several obstacles stood in his way, including extended employment gaps, discomfort with technology, and his age. 

With the help of a workforce training specialist, Jeffrey was able to gain valuable work experience in a variety of settings including schools, hospitals, childcare facilities, senior centers, and more. With the help of NCOA, Jeffrey was able to start his second chapter with a full-time job as a program aide at Pennsylvania Career Link.
