Dear Reader,

You may have seen our year-end giving goal: $950,000 from 1,250 readers of FIRST THINGS.

To put a fine point on it: That’s how much we need to raise by December 31 to publish FIRST THINGS and execute our core programs in the new year.

Of course, to accomplish something by December 31, one doesn’t start on December 31. We have been working all fall to prepare a strong case for readers like you to support FIRST THINGS in this season of giving.

Giving too requires planning, especially in the month of December. Toward this end, you’ll find below a list of the ways you can support FIRST THINGS with a year-end gift.

Keep in mind that some of these gifts take time to set up and must be sent by December 31 to count toward this calendar year.

  • Credit card using the button below

  • Check mailed to 9 East 40th Street, Tenth Floor, New York, NY 10016

  • Donor-advised fund using our EIN of 52-1628303

  • A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) through an individual retirement account (IRA), which is set up through your IRA’s trustee

  • Appreciated assets transferred to our brokerage account: Custodian: Charles Schwab; DTC clearing: 0164; Account number: 4634-3633

You can also support FIRST THINGS via wire transfer, ACH, or a variety of planned gift vehicles, about which more information can be found on our new Richard John Neuhaus Society website here.

If you have any questions, please respond to this email or contact Claire Giuntini, Director of the Editor’s Circle, at [email protected] or 212-627-1985. Thank you in advance for your support!

With gratitude,
