Friend,

Trump has announced his choices for key Cabinet positions and some of them are as unqualified as we all expected. As disheartening as the news has been, I'm writing to tell you that we cannot despair and we cannot give up.

This isn't our first time facing a Trump-appointed Cabinet.

During the first Trump administration, we held his Cabinet accountable and worked for truth, transparency, and the American people. Now, we know their playbook and are prepared to fight back even harder than before. That fight starts with appointments, and I urge my colleagues in the Senate on both sides of the aisle to put People over Politics when they vote.

No matter what, I know we're ready for the challenges ahead. Let's continue this fight together.
