Dear Friend,
The American Sustainable Business Council ([link removed]) , in partnership with Sustainable Brands ([link removed]) , invites you to a timely discussion on the future of corporate sustainability in a shifting political and social landscape.
On Monday, December 9, 2024, at 1pm ET/10am PT, I will be joining Michael Dupee, C.E.O of Sustainable Brands PBC, to host a panel of thought leaders to explore what the 2024 US presidential election results mean for responsible businesses.

In recent years, companies have been increasingly cautious about publicly sharing their sustainability commitments, a trend known as “greenhushing.” Many businesses faced with intensified scrutiny, accusations of “greenwashing” from regulatory bodies and environmental advocates, and criticisms of “corporate wokeness” from political spheres are questioning how openly they should communicate their sustainability goals. This precarious landscape has led some organizations to retreat from, or even reverse, public commitments on critical issues like addressing the climate crisis and prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives despite consumers’ growing demands for more sustainable values-aligned products and brands.
With the 2024 US presidential election serving as a potential turning point, businesses are looking closely at how these dynamics might change–and what the path forward will look like in a new regulatory and cultural landscape.
This virtual event will bring together prominent thought leaders from within our community to explore the impacts of the election results on corporate sustainability. We’ll discuss pressing questions around transparency, accountability, messaging, and the role of business in addressing social and environmental challenges amidst shifting political and societal expectations.
Join us ([link removed]) for a virtual gathering to discuss and explore:
* The potential ripple effects of the election on corporate commitments to climate action, DEI, and other social impact areas;
* How shifts in regulation and public sentiment may shape sustainability practices and reporting;
* Emerging approaches to resilience and adaptation in an increasingly complex landscape for responsible business.
