Dear City Limits readers,

As the end of the year approaches, and as the only nonprofit newsroom dedicated to covering housing and homelessness in New York City, we’re preparing for 2025—and what it means for our local communities.

In the run-up to the presidential election, our reporting team explored what was at stake for the city’s tenants, public housing residents, and immigrants. With a new administration heading to the White House in January, we’ll continue to examine and illuminate what the decisions of those in power mean for the day-to-day lives of our neighbors across the five boroughs.

Closer to home, we’re getting ready to cover the race to elect New York City’s next mayor. We’ll be probing the candidates on what they’ll do to address homelessness and the housing affordability crisis. Click here to let us know what you most want to know from those running.

Independent, impactful news that centers New Yorkers is more important than ever. But we can’t do it without your support.

From now until the end of the year, every donation up to $1,000 will be matched by Newsmatch. Help us reach our year end fundraising goal of $40,000 by donating today!
