If you followed our work at the State Board of Education (SBOE) last week, you saw that the Republican-dominated board officially voted to allow the state’s Bible-infused elementary school reading curriculum into public schools [[link removed]] .
This move places Texas at the center of a national scheme to undermine the separation of church and state by using public education to promote a single-minded, right-wing religious agenda.

We expect the far right to continue attacking students’ religious freedom when the 89th Legislative Session starts in January. Republicans have already filed multiple bills to force the Ten Commandments into classrooms.
