Hi John,
Trans rights are under attack in the United States, and it’s more important than ever to show up and defend our freedoms. There’s work we can do today to start laying the groundwork to stand up to attacks on transgender youth and families.
On Wednesday, December 4, join us outside the Supreme Court at the Freedom to Be Ourselves Rally for trans rights and life-saving health care. [[link removed]] Together with Lambda Legal and advocates from across the country, we’ll show our united support as ACLU lawyers fight Tennessee’s unconstitutional ban on health care for trans youth—a case that could shape trans rights nationwide.
WHAT: Freedom to Be Ourselves Rally
WHEN: Wednesday, December 4, 10am ET
WHERE: Supreme Court, Washington, D.C.
I’M IN [[link removed]]
On December 4, ACLU lawyers will be at the Supreme Court arguing in a landmark transgender rights case. Our lawyers are representing a 15-year-old and her family in Tennessee who have been blocked by the state’s extreme ban on medically necessary health care for transgender youth. This ban isn’t just cruel—it’s blatantly discriminatory and unconstitutional. Now, it’s up to the Supreme Court to decide whether or not trans people are protected under our Constitution.
Let’s be clear: If lawmakers can strip one group from their constitutional rights, anyone could be next. We all deserve the freedom to make our own choices about our health and bodies.
Showing up in person is one of the most impactful ways you can contribute to this fight. RSVP now and then invite three friends to join you—just forward this email or share this link. [[link removed]]
Together, we can prove to the Supreme Court—and the entire country—that we won’t back down in our fight for freedom.
See you in the streets,
ACLU People Power
