Meet COLA PN Leader, Maddie Blanch!

Meet our Columbia Professional Network Chapter Leader, Maddie Blanch. A 2023 graduate of the University of South Carolina, Maddie has been interested in politics since 2019. She started the NeW college chapter at USC in 2020 and has been an active member in her community politics since she could vote. Now a special education teacher, Maddie is looking forward to meeting like-minded women through NeW PN! In her free time, you can find her cheering on the Gamecocks or Baltimore Ravens or reading a good book with her dog.

Recent Network Events

On November 19, NeW students, alumni, and staff joined our holiday book club discussion on Family Unfriendly: How Our Culture Made Raising Kids Much Harder Than It Needs to Be, written by Tim Carney. We had a great discussion and hope you can join us for the next one. Everyone who attends book club discussions are always sent a free copy of the book!

Young Voices Program

Applications for the Spring 2025 class are now open and will close on November 30, 2024, at 11:59 pm ET. To join the cohort, submit a résumé, an op-ed draft, and a two-minute introductory video expressing your desire to be part of the movement. Direct all inquiries to [email protected].

Write for Verily Magazine

Submissions are taken on a rolling basis for reader-written columns. The preferred word count is 600–1200 words.

Write for Evie Magazine

Submit a pitch of your piece to Evie, not a full op-ed.
If you do not hear back within two weeks, your article was not picked up.
