→ Developing: Governor Brian Kemp Under Fire for Disbanding State Maternal Mortality Review Board ←
John: Georgia has one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the country.
And earlier this fall, the state’s Maternal Mortality Review Committee determined that two Georgia women, Amber Thurman and Candi Miller, died as a direct result of the state’s six-week abortion ban.
But instead of using this information to take accountability and address the maternal mortality crisis, Gov. Brian Kemp just disbanded the entire committee.
Without the Committee’s oversight and recommendations, critical gaps in maternal healthcare could go unaddressed, potentially leaving lives at risk.
That’s why we’re launching an urgent campaign to pressure Gov. Kemp into reinstating the Maternal Mortality Review Committee as soon as possible.
But we need to secure 1,000 signatures on our petition to prove overwhelming public support. So will you sign your name right now?
Together,
Georgia Democrats
