Thanksgiving started with a feast between colonists and Native Americans, but it wasn’t a holiday until Lincoln made it official thanks to a determined woman named Sarah Joseph Hale. From turkey and pie to parades and football, the modern holiday has evolved, but the theme remains the same: giving thanks.
