“God, I don’t know if this is real. I don’t know if this is You, but if it is, I’ll take the first step if You’ll do the rest.” —Fred
Fred wasn’t expecting to experience radical transformation behind bars.
Fred had a rough childhood. His mother was deeply involved with gangs. Those who were supposed to care for him violated his trust by sexually abusing him. The abuse left Fred with deep emotional wounds.
He decided to solve his problems through violence, so he followed in his mother’s footsteps and joined a gang. This road led to Fred being arrested and sentenced to 30 years in prison at only 16 years old.
At 17, Fred came to faith while getting high on marijuana in prison.
Will you join us this #GivingTuesday as we aim to deliver an Angel Tree Christmas to 17,000 children of prisoners across the country? Each child will receive a gift and note from their incarcerated parent, as well as the opportunity to receive a children’s Bible of their very own. When you donate today, your gift will be doubled up to $100,000—bringing joy to twice as many kids!
Jessica tried to do things on her own, which landed her in prison. Through the community of the Prison Fellowship Academy®, she learned a new way of living. Read more about how God turned her life around.
