First, we want to express our gratitude for all of your efforts to effect change this year for Arizona’s students, educators, and public schools. Many of the races we worked so hard on did not go our way and we are devastated for our state and our schools. 

However, it’s important to note that 61 of our endorsed school board candidates across the state won their races and 73% of school bonds and overrides passed. In addition, many wonderful education champions were elected and re-elected to the Arizona legislature. We are deeply thankful for all of your efforts and the contributions that powered our work. 

While we know that the future of public education in Arizona and across the US feels at risk, we are eager to share that we are organizing tirelessly with grassroots groups like ours in other states, as well as with many national partners who are dedicated to the fight for public schools as the centers of our communities and the cornerstone of the kind of equitable, resilient democracy we are all trying to achieve. 

The battles ahead will be fierce and will require each of us to commit our time, energy, courage, and more in order to protect our students, educators, and schools.
