Donald Trump’s fossil-fuel-first agenda threatens to undo years of climate progress. From withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement and gutting clean energy subsidies to rolling back environmental justice programs, slashing protections for endangered species, and opening protected lands to drilling — he’s laid out a plan to supercharge Big Oil and flood our planet with pollution.

But here’s the thing: We don’t have to make it easy for him.

President Biden and Democratic leaders across the country still have two months to act. Two months to pass protections, confirm qualified judicial nominees, strengthen policies, and create firewalls that make it harder for Trump and his allies to execute their dirty oil agenda. The more progress we lock in now, the harder it will be for them to roll it back later.

We’ve seen it before: Trump’s first presidency was tied up in lawsuits and delays because of the groundwork Democrats laid. With enough action now, we can make his climate rollback agenda a logistical nightmare.
