John,
As we approach the start of Advent, I find myself reflecting on the unexpected hope of the Christmas story.
I’m thinking about how this familiar story can uniquely inspire pro-life work…
Our Savior came in the most helpless and vulnerable state imaginable — as a preborn baby. Through Mary’s humble trust and obedience to God’s plan, the Messiah was ushered into the world.
Although unexpected, her pregnancy was the means through which humanity received Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love in the Person of Jesus Christ.
While Mary’s pregnancy surely caused many around her to point fingers and to whisper dark thoughts, Mary embraced Gabriel’s prophetic message and chose to allow hope to overpower fear and uncertainty.
Today, one of the reasons the abortion industry continues to thrive is that mothers facing unexpected pregnancies often don’t have hope. Doubt and fear whisper in their hearts, telling them that their lives are over and that they are incapable of raising a child.
They lose sight of the truth that the babies developing within them are precious gifts from God, worthy of life.
It is our duty to remind mothers of this truth, to reassure them that their babies are a blessing no matter what their circumstances may be, and to speak up on behalf of the preborn babies who have no voices of their own.
You and I can be like Gabriel, proclaiming that, while this child may be unexpected, God has a bigger, more beautiful plan than we can imagine.
That’s why I’m excited to share with you a special offer...
Every day, more than 2,800 preborn lives are lost to abortion in this country because their parents lack hope and truth. Will you give the children at risk of abortion this Advent season the gift of life by donating to spread the truth and hope to those who think they have no choice but abortion?
