Donald Trump is now President-Elect and will be back in the Oval Office in January.

That means Senate Democrats must act fast to confirm President Biden’s judicial nominees before Trump takes over. We’ve got to secure these appointments while we can — we need to protect the judiciary from a right-wing shift.

For the foreseeable future, our courts will be the last line of defense against Trump’s extremism, and could be our only mechanism to preserve voting rights, reproductive rights, environmental protections, and more.

Over a dozen of Biden’s judicial nominees are currently awaiting confirmation. These are federal district and appeals court judges who would safeguard our constitutional rights and put checks on Presidential and Congressional power.

If Democrats don’t act fast to confirm these nominees and their seats are left open, Trump will be able to “pack the courts” with extreme conservative judges for decades to come.
