A Message from Gabe:
Greetings Rhode Islanders,
This month, we’re celebrating something big: the third anniversary of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. This law, also known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, has been a game changer for Rhode Island and for communities nationwide. It’s not just about fixing what’s broken — it’s about building a more resilient America for future generations.
Here in the Ocean State, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law has dedicated resources to repair roads, improve public safety, and fix inequalities in our state. It has funded:
- $220 million to replace the Washington Bridge — fully funding the state's request and moving us closer toward alleviating the burden on commuters and residents.
- $251 million to replace 15 bridges along the busy I-95 corridor that were in critical need of repair.
- $45.8 million provided to Rhode Island households through the Affordable Connectivity Program, expanding Internet access to those in need.
- $28 million to identify and replace lead service lines and ensure every Rhode Islander has access to safe drinking water.
- $12.4 million in federal funding to purchase 45 new electric school buses and charging equipment infrastructure.
- $11.25 million to improve the Port of Davisville at Quonset to increase efficiency and capacity while extending the service life of this critical port, a key player in our state’s Blue Economy.
Across the country, over 66,000 projects are underway nationwide because of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law — and we're just getting started. These investments are creating jobs, boosting our economy, and setting us up for a stronger, more sustainable future.
I’m proud to fight for federal resources to support Rhode Island, and I’m excited to see what we build together for our future.
Sincerely, |
|

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recently kicked off a nationwide campaign to increase awareness of the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline.

The hotline connects callers with experienced counselors who offer support and help provide local health care resources. The hotline is available in English, Spanish, and over 60 other languages.

This week, President Biden made history by becoming the first sitting U.S. President to visit the Amazon rainforest. The President spent time in Brazil, meeting with Indigenous and local leaders to discuss protecting this vital ecosystem and supporting sustainable living.
The trip commemorated an important milestone, the U.S. met its commitment to provide over $11 billion a year in international climate finance. These investments support efforts to reduce emissions and increase climate resilience in developing nations. Climate change does not end at the border, and neither can our fight against it.

At the New England Connectivity and Telecommunications Association in Newport, I discussed how Rhode Island is a leader in broadband access thanks to strong government and private sector partnerships. I am working in Congress to close the digital divide and expand internet access to ensure no one is left behind. |

Legislative Update
This week, I voted to pass the Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act, legislation that would ensure Veterans receive the care they have earned.
For far too long, Veterans and military families in Rhode Island have faced unnecessary challenges accessing benefits and care from the Department of Veterans Affairs. This legislation would change that by expanding access to Home- and Community-Based Services for Veterans, helping surviving military spouses retain key benefits, and increasing reimbursement rates for organizations that provide housing for homeless Veterans.
Now that the House has done its job, we still need the Senate to pass this bill and send it to President Biden's desk to be signed into law. I'm hopeful the Senate will move quickly so Veterans in Rhode Island and across the country can start benefiting.

Congressman Gabe Amo Speaks on the House Floor to Recognize Rhode Island FC
Congressman Amo speaking on the House Floor to recognize Rhode Island FC as the Eastern Conference Champions for the United Soccer League Championship.
This week, I had the honor of speaking on the House Floor to recognize the United Soccer League (USL) Eastern Conference Champions — Rhode Island FC.
Coming into this season, Rhode Island FC was not projected to make the postseason. However, led by their head coach, Khano Smith, the team put together a magical playoff run. Earlier this month, they took down top-seeded Louisville City FC, and on Saturday, they held off a late surge by the Charleston Battery to win a 2-1 thriller.
Rhode Island FC is bringing Rhode Islanders together and giving us something to root for. Congratulations to the East Conference Champions! Our whole state will be cheering you on as you take on Colorado Springs in the final!
