Jessika spends time with her daughters Sussan and Jessiel and their IRC caseworker, Rachel, outside their home in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The International Rescue Committee, thanks to your support, plays a vital role in welcoming and providing resettlement and integration services for refugees and asylum seekers—and families like Jessika's.
Jessika, her husband Rafael, and their girls left Venezuela to seek safety, initially in Peru and Ecuador. Rafael was detained seeking asylum and spent 18 months separated from his family until several resettlement organizations facilitated Jessika and their daughters' safe journey to join him in the United States.
The IRC provided them with casework services, immigration consultation, housing, education and health care services.
The family now lives in Salt Lake City, Utah, with their bunny, Bonix. Despite the hardships, reuniting with their father after 18 months brought immense happiness.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity, John. Your support brings hope and relief to families facing the most challenging circumstances. 💛
