FROM THE DESK OF ALAN DERSHOWITZ |

Dear friend, In over sixty years in the legal profession, I've experienced first hand the impact of both good journalism and bad journalism — mostly the latter — and just how important and rare it is to get things right.
In today's media landscape there are far too many publications that get things wrong. Many are more concerned with the political implications of a story than the basic facts.
The New York Sun is different. It's a paper that places principle over politics and people over party.
Its in-depth coverage of the legal challenges faced by President Trump serve as a case in point.
When I defended President Trump during his first impeachment, I faced an avalanche of criticism, but few papers made sufficient effort to fully appreciate the significance of the legal arguments.
The Sun's deeply knowledgeable leadership, including its editor Seth Lipsky and associate editor A.R. Hoffman are themselves students of the Constitution. It shows in their coverage, which I find to be first rate.
It will be no secret to you that I don't agree with everything that can be found in the Sun's pages, but I can say with confidence that its re-emergence is among the most important recent developments in American journalism.
I've been impressed by the Sun's growth so far, but I know it faces an uphill battle, one that I have pledged to join.
The Sun's success will be a gift to the American people and to the cause of truth. But to succeed, we need you to join us. I highly encourage you to join the Sun today.
Every person matters in this effort.
Don't wait. The battle to restore American journalism starts now. |
