Your support in action: GLAAD brings expert voices to fight for fair reportingGLAAD’s News and Rapid Response team recently led two impactful briefings for reporters, focusing on advancing accurate and empathetic reporting on transgender issues. In one briefing, GLAAD convened experts from the ACLU, Lambda Legal, and The Fenway Institute, alongside a parent-turned-advocate and their 21-year-old transgender child, Kai, to discuss U.S. v Skrmetti, a case challenging Tennessee’s ban on essential health care for transgender youth. In the other briefing, GLAAD engaged leaders in Alabama’s AL.com newsroom for the first time, inviting transgender high school senior Harleigh Walker and her father, Jeff, to share their personal experiences, including Harleigh’s testimony against a proposed health care ban. These efforts, made possible by supporters like you, help ensure reporters and advocates are equipped to drive meaningful change and foster LGBTQ acceptance through accurate and inclusive reporting.
