As we work to pass a constitutional amendment to protect reproductive rights in Virginia, there is one step in particular that is extremely important as we enter the upcoming election year:

In November 2025, Virginia voters will head to the polls to elect a Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, and the entire House of Delegates.

Here is why it’s important: If pro-choice leadership remains in control of the House of Delegates, the General Assembly will take the second vote on the amendment in 2026. If it passes, the amendment will proceed to the next stage – to be voted on by the people of Virginia – without needing the Governor’s approval. If we lose control of the House, the amendment will not move forward. The outcome of these elections will be critical.

We’ve been here before: Roe Your Vote Virginia emerged as a pivotal force in the 2023 General Assembly elections, propelling abortion-rights candidates to victory and highlighting Virginians’ support for reproductive freedom. Now, we must prepare to do it again. The future of abortion rights depends on it.
