Fellow American,
On December 3, Officer Chance Bretches will step into a courtroom where his future hangs in the balance. A future that could take him away from his wife and three young children this Christmas and for many years to come—all because he did his duty to protect us.
Every day Chance put on his badge, he knew he was risking everything to keep his community safe. But he never thought that, in answering a call to protect others, he’d end up facing criminal charges himself.
Will you donate to his defense today?
Officer Bretches is staring down the possibility of a 99-year prison sentence because he dared to protect his community from rioters. In May 2020, as Austin erupted in violent protests, Chance and his fellow officers did everything they could to keep the peace. They followed their training and used non-lethal measures to disperse a dangerous crowd, preventing further destruction and chaos.
Yet, after a socialist District Attorney took office, everything changed. Chance was singled out for prosecution while charges against 17 other officers were dropped. This isn’t justice—it’s a political attack on a man who risked his life for his community.
Imagine for a moment what this means for his family. If convicted, they’ll lose the father and husband who’s been their rock.
This Thanksgiving, while most of us gather with our families, Chance’s wife and children will be grappling with the unbearable possibility that he might not come home—not for Christmas, or for countless holidays in the future.
This isn’t justice. And we can’t let this happen.
The National Center for Police Defense has been in Chance’s corner, fighting tirelessly to secure a fair defense. But our resources are stretched, and we urgently need your help. Cases like Officer Bretches’ require extensive support—legal teams, evidence, and the strength of a community standing behind him.
We can’t do it alone. Officer Bretches needs people like you to stand with him, to show that he is not forgotten, and to help him return to his family where he belongs.
Your donation today will make a real difference. It will go directly toward ensuring Officer Bretches has the best possible defense and a fighting chance to be with his family this holiday season.
Will you stand with Chance Bretches and his family? Will you help us fight to keep him home with his children?
This is about more than one trial; it’s about defending those who defend us. Every dollar you give brings us closer to justice. Every donation helps bring Chance closer to his family. They need him home—not locked away for doing his duty.
Please, make a donation now. Together, let’s bring Officer Bretches home for Christmas and show our officers that they will never stand alone.
Thank you for standing up for justice and for supporting the families of those who protect us.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Sheriff Joe Arpaio
