Sen. Katie Britt named Vice Chair of National Republican Senatorial Committee

<[link removed]>

U.S. Senator Katie Britt has been named a Vice Chair of the National
Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC). Britt reports she will be laser focused
on solidifying and expanding the Republican majority in the U.S. Senate.

“Senate Republicans are ready to get to work! The American people delivered
the White House and the Senate majority because we need to secure the border,
turn our economy around, and preserve the American Dream for our kids,” Sen.
Britt said. “Fighting alongside President Trump, four years of a Republican
Senate majority is critical to fulfilling this mandate. I’m excited to work
with Senator Tim Scott to protect and build upon the success we had on November
5.”

The announcement came from NRSC Chairman Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), who
introduced the full slate of Vice Chairs, including U.S. Senators Marsha
Blackburn (R-TN), Ted Budd (R-NC), Pete Ricketts (R-NE), and Senator-elect Jim
Banks (R-IN).

Sen. Britt highlights Alabama priorities following natural disasters

<[link removed]>

Wednesday, U.S. Senator Katie Britt, R-Ala., questioned U.S. Department of
Agriculture Deputy Secretary Xochitl Torres Small and Federal Emergency
Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Deanne Criswell during a full U.S.
Senate Committee on Appropriations hearing focused on the Biden
Administration’s disaster relief supplemental funding request.

During the hearing, Senator Britt spoke directly to her colleagues on the
urgent need to pass a bipartisan disaster supplemental bill:

“On January 12, 2023, Selma, Alabama, was hit and devastated by an EF-2
tornado. This piece of legislation has some important funding for DRA, $10
million, to help with those communities that were affected by storms in 2023,”
said Senator Britt.

U.S. Sen. Katie Britt wants a surgeon general warning on social media platforms

<[link removed]>

You’re probably familiar with the surgeon general warning on tobacco products.
If U.S. Sen. Katie Britt’s “Stop the Scroll” bill passes Congress, a similar
warning would pop up every time you open your social media feed.

“The verbiage of the warning would be up to the surgeon general and the FTC
and be reviewed by them every 3 years,” Britt explained. “Importantly, the one
thing we did mandate was that it had a link to resources.”

Britt, a Republican, teamed up with Democratic Sen. John Fetterman to
introduce the bill. It has since been endorsed by another Democratic senator,
George Helmy.

“The mental health crisis in front of our nation is not something that is a
Democrat or a Republican issue, it is an American issue,” Britt said.
