Winter Preparedness - Weather Safety Tips

Atmos Energy is sharing tips to help you prepare for winter. To help keep your home and family safe during winter weather, consider implementing these weather safety tips:

* Never use an oven or a gas stovetop to heat your home
* Leave faucets running at a trickle, leave cabinet doors open to minimize the risk of frozen pipes.
* Make sure smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms are in working condition.
* Carefully remove snow and ice from meters and pipes by gently using a broom or brush.
* Make sure that external vents for dryers and other natural gas equipment are clear.

power engage - police building
Power Engage - Police Survey

The Hurst Police Department is excited to introduce Power Engage - a new way to stay connected with our community and hear directly from you. Through this tool, the police department will be able to gather valuable feedback on certain non-emergency calls, helping us understand how we can better serve you. In the next couple of weeks, Hurst PD will start sending short text surveys after specific interactions with 911 or the department. These quick surveys are a chance for you to share your experience, so we can improve and tailor our services to meet your needs. Not everyone will receive a survey, and if you prefer not to participate, you can simply ignore it or let us know in advance by calling 817-788-7131. Please remember, this survey is for feedback only and not for emergencies, formal complaints, or reporting criminal activity.

At Hurst, we’re a community built on connection, and your voice helps us strengthen that connection every day!

CPR 200th home
200th Home Helped in Hurst

This October, we celebrated a huge milestone – our 200th home assisted through 6 Stones’ Community Powered Revitalization (CPR) Program!

It all started in 1998 with Employee Giving Day, where the City of Hurst took steps to improve neighborhoods and help homeowners in need. In 2010, we teamed up with 6 Stones to bring even more volunteers and resources to complete home repairs like painting, fence repair, and yard maintenance for residents who qualify.

Thanks to this amazing partnership, we’ve now helped 200 residents!

A huge thank you to 6 Stones and to our incredible residents for making Hurst such a special place to call home! ?? Learn more about this program by clicking the button below.
