News from Representative Larson

Dear Friends,

As colder weather approaches, heating assistance is available for families in need. I announced $77.8 million in new federal funding with the entire Connecticut Congressional delegation earlier this month to help residents with their heating bills.

Depending on your income level and household size, eligible households can receive between $180 and $530 to afford their energy bills or fuel deliveries through the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program. You can apply online now at CT.gov/heatinghelp or call 211 for assistance.

All gas and electric utilities in the State of Connecticut are required to offer payment plans to residents struggling to pay their bills, such as matching payment plans or low-income discount rates. Learn more about payment plan options here

Residents facing financial hardship are protected from heating shut offs until May 1, 2025. If you are unable to pay your bill, ask your utility provider about the Winter Protection Program to receive a hardship or medical protection designation.

Everyone should be able to heat their homes without breaking the bank. I will continue to work with my colleagues in Congress to ensure residents have the support they need to stay warm this winter.
