Friend --
We hope you will join us this weekend for Sunday Brunch with Higher
Heights presented by #TheSipHour. On this week's menu we will explore
the attack on Blackness taking place in recent weeks that has been
making national headlines and plaguing our
communities.
Tensions have run high at the release of the video
of the fatal shooting of Ahmaud Arbery, an unarmed Black man killed
while jogging, has sparked national outrage after his family recently
released a video of his death. His case also went months with only a
limited investigation; it wasn’t until the video went viral that the
two white men involved with shooting were arrested.
Similarly,
in Kentucky, 26-year old Breonna Taylor's shooting death has been
called an "execution", as she was asleep in her apartment when police
burst into her home to serve a search warrant.
And this week
in New York, 22-year-old mother Kaleemah Rozier was tackled to the
ground by police officers in front of her child during a confrontation
over wearing a mask.

We hope you will join us for a deep dive conversation on the attack
on Blackness and the over policing of Black bodies even during
#COVID19. Our guests include:
- Letitia "Tish" James, New York Attorney General
- Sybrina Fulton, Activist
- Tamika Mallory, Activist
- Lonita Baker, Attorney, Aguiar Injury Lawyers, PLLC
- James “Major” Woodall, GA State Director, NAACP
‘The Sip’, continues to gather Black women online across the
country to be informed, engaged, to take action and practice self care
and joy during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In these new virtual
times, The Sip will be on-hand for your weekly programming to stay
in-the-know on all things affecting Black women and our communities.
We’ll see you at Sunday Brunch and keep an eye on your inbox for more
invites to come.
Best,
Glynda
